Healthy Brain – Healthy Body

Hello friends! Glad to meet you. Even better interacting with you. This time is very difficult for all.  Corona is spreading very fast new cases are increasing every day. I would like to urge all my readers they do not worry and take proper precautions so that they can be safe from this disease. Think positive because out thinking can do wonders. In this article I would like to highlight some important facts about brain which is also known as –the unconquered marvel!

This does not mean do not put efforts of doing anything you must do hard work of achieving anything that is the basic thing to start with but your positive thinking towards your effort enhances your endeavor and also results best !

This topic would have become a vigilant one. This era has been slightly drifted towards small issues which crept in our mind start turmoil ling us from inside slowly and gradually small issues become that big which turn into psychological issues as depression, anxiety which leads a person to commit wrong deed in their lives.

Here I would like to illustrate some points which can change the mindset of having these negative emotions for escaping from the situation one should start believing oneself. Miracle is hidden in our thought process. Mental health most certainly depends on thought we believe for our self and society.

Mental health includes our emotional psychological and social well being. It affects how one thinks, feels and acts. It also helps how one handles stress. It is significant at every stage of life.

Human brain is most complex mechanism in the universe weighing only 2.5 to 3.0 pounds. It is comprised of cells called neurons. The mind and body are inextricably and wondrously linked. Neither can function without the other. Both arteries and nerves serve as the primary communication network between the mind and body.

The health and resourcefulness of the brain is in direct proportion to the health of the body. Only if the body is well nourished, relaxed and regularly exercised, can it supply the brain with the required oxygen and nutrients via the blood, and remove the waste gases- carbon dioxide. This facilitates in the efficient removal of cell excretions from the busy brain cells in their round their round -the-clock metabolism. Failure of the heart and the circulatory system impairs the thinking process.

Our mind changes day to day, even hour to hour. We shape it unconsciously as we speak, think, listen, eat and drink, sleep, relax, read, write and exercise. The mind is vulnerable to influences both within and outside the body. We can influence the mind by changing our physical posture, changing the way we speak and the tone of our voice. Ultimately we can make our mind work best by using it at different situation.

Use of brain’s inherent power shapes the environment, circumstances and people. The brain grows stronger with regular use. The abilities of the brain and nervous system are not an inheritance as falsely believed.  Rather Brain is what gets even better by constant experimentation. If your brain is most resourceful, then it is in great form.

Brain mirrors Posture and thoughts

There are lots of situations in life whom we meet at first time in our lives and we come to know about the person at first sight what that is?  Do not wonder this is our natural ability to read people’s thoughts, emotions from their facial expression and body postures. This is because face and body are mirrors of the mind. Visible facial expressions and body postures reflect one’s thoughts.

Tensed jaws, hunched shoulders and a stooped back are a result not of physical wear and tear, but of the mental condition determined by the emotions within. The body reflects this, being a faithful mirror of the mind.

Mind body and environment

The mind body and the environment relate to one another influencing each other in turns. For example if you are in a situation where the mind perceives a threat immediately, it releases chemical messengers to arouse the body to meet the threat and as a result you experience fear. The mind evaluates the choices regarding what you do next? To fight against the situation or get escaped from it. The chemical messenger (hormone) released now stimulates the brain itself. If brain chooses to fight than the chemical messengers embolden you physical energy to fight with courage.

On the other hand, if the brain chooses to get escaped from the situation, you run to safety. The physical problems start at this point. The stimulated brain gives us constant signals while we are out of that threatening situation.

The above situations can be neutralized immediately through relaxation, deep breathing, and walking or sequential muscle relaxation exercises.

Exercise of the brain

When our body is consistently exercised, we eventually witness its outcome- “Positive”. The effects of physical exercises have a profound and extensive impact reaching out to emotions, memory and intellect, improves the three. Aerobics delivers more blood to the brain as the heart, more powerful and efficient exercise which pumps more blood with each beat.

Physical exercises reduce certain levels in the blood and strengthen arteries. Exercising regularly decreases depression and anxiety. At the same time, memory, attention span and motivation increases without delay. Physical exercise speeds up the nerve impulses between the brain cells.

Almost any activity that challenges you and demands thinking, planning and making choices, arriving at the right decisions and foreseeing the consequences of your actions are all exercises to the brain. Activities that make demands on your problem solving skill like playing a game of chess, cracking the crossword puzzle or Sudoku, an absorbing game such as scrabble and interactive computer games are excellent exercises for the mind.

Healthy brain – Healthy body

Ultimately we can make our mind work best by using it. Just as muscles of the body deteriorate without exercise, similarly it is with the mind which stiffens and weakens. The brain is an important organ that neuroscientists explain is designed to develop power when it is required to meet the stringent demands placed on it. The abilities of the brain and nervous system are not an inheritance as falsely believed. Rather we can make the best of it through regular exercise and consistent use. We can make it most resourceful and also shape it in great form.

The mind is everything what you think you become – says Buddha.
